The day commenced with an Abhishekham ceremony for Lord Murugan, Goddess Deivanai, and Valli at 9 AM. At 10 AM, the Thirupuzhal Anbargal group performed Thirukalyanam songs, followed by the Nagarathars who sang devotional songs dedicated to Lord Murugan. By 11 AM, the Thirukalyanam rituals began, featuring symbolic acts such as offering Valli's hand to Murugan, presenting a saree to Valli, tying the Maangalyam, and ceremonially placing the deities on a swing. The Nagarathars sang the heartfelt "Aaduga Oongal" during this swinging ceremony.
Around 12:30 PM, devotees participated in the chariot procession and Aarthi, concluding with the distribution of Prasadam. The event wrapped up with a delightful hot lunch, generously served by the SVBF temple.
The Nagarathars played an integral role as primary sponsors, contributing items essential to the Thirukalyanam, including sarees, Veshtis, Thirumaangalyam, Malai, seer varisai items, Thirukalyana contributions ($250), and Annadhanam contributions ($700). Heartfelt thanks go to all the Nagarathars for their generosity and support.
A special note of appreciation goes to Arun Annan and Sakunthala Aachi for their tremendous help in coordinating with the temple and the Thirupuzhal Anbargal group, as well as for procuring sarees and Veshtis from India. Many thanks to Nirmala and Sethu for arranging all the garlands. Gratitude also goes to Veerappan for assisting with coordination.
